Jack Davis shares his thoughts

In the beginning, we had a vision - a dream to create a race that would bring communities together, transform lives, and inspire us all to become better versions of ourselves. Over the past eight years, the KK100 has done just that.
What started as a small idea in Leadville in 2015 and a growing concept in the awe-inspiring Drakensberg foothills in 2016, the Karkloof Trail Series has surpassed our expectations.
This incredible journey has gifted me with a cherished community, changed my life in unimaginable ways, and helped me grow as a person. None of this would have been possible without each and every one of you - the vibrant community, the dedicated runners, the enthusiastic supporters, and the selfless volunteers.
As we watch the Karkloof Trail Series enter a new era, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for what Terence Vrugtmann and Adventure Life have planned for our beloved event. I cannot think of anyone better suited to guide the race's future.
Terence holds a deep respect for the race, understanding the core values and foundations upon which it was built. His unwavering commitment to excellence, coupled with a strong respect for history and tradition, makes him the ideal person to take over the race. Congratulations, Terence, and thank you to Andrew for growing this event into the wonderful experience it is today.
I cannot wait for the day when I proudly attach my race number and when the clock strikes 8, take those first steps into the enchanting realm of the Karkloof forests.
As the sun gently rises and unveils the splendour of Benvie Gardens, I'll be there, bearing witness to nature's masterpiece.
In the valley, the sun's brutality will energize and propel me forward, as I navigate the terrain with my fellow runners.
The moment when I cross that iconic finish line, I can't help but feel a deep connection to the spirit of the Karkloof 100 miler.
It's more than just a race; it's a celebration of human resilience, determination, and the bonds forged along the way.

Above all, I can't wait for the honour of having my name etched on the People’s trophy, alongside the countless runners who have come before me - the dear friends and legends of the Karkloof 100 miler.
Thank you, one and all, and good luck, Terence. I eagerly await the next chapter of this incredible journey. See you all at the starting line!
